There are stainless steel and plastic clips for choice, which one should I choose?

Basically they are functionally the same, so when it comes to making a decision for proper clip choice, you will
have to consider:

1. Cost.
SS clips are generally more costly that plastic ones, but they are much more durable when used outdoor.

2. Size
To mattch your decking with clips of right size is very important during installation. Stainless steel clips tend be easier to adjust on sizes because of elasticity of stainless steel material, while the plastic ones are normally fixed on dimensions. You can customize the size by making a mold though.

Key dimensions to be noted are marked in the picture below.



We will need to know the height of the clip you are looking for,
to match your decking with clips of precise dimensions.


The clips' size is to be made as per decking dimensions,
while slight adjustment won't affect its functions.

3. For seaside area we would recommend to use 316 ss clips or ABS clips, as they are better rot resistant against salty seawater
